George Baker (1878 - 1943)

George Baker was born in Muncie, Indiana but lived in Richmond for most of his life. He was a student of Bundy and the two artists became close friends and shared a studio. Baker was a visiting professor at Miami University in 1925. He had an active studio in Richmond and taught many including Howard Leigh and Lawrence McConaha.

Baker's work is noted for its Impressionistic style and bold colors. He worked in oil and pastel and exhibited throughout the United States.
